An Introduction to Kaizen Boerboels

Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning "change for the better" or "continuous improvement” in small incremental steps. Breeding should always be focused on continuous improvement both in structure and health. And each pairing/litter is one small step. We chose Kaizen as it is such an appropriate term to describe both the process and the ethics of breeding.

We are passionate Boerboel breeders. But we take that passion very seriously. We understand that as breeders, we are custodians of the breed and as such we are committed to the following key objectives:

  • Every pairing is done with careful planning to contribute positively to the breed as a whole and to our own breeding objectives as a kennel.
  • Health and well-being of the parents and the pups we produce are of utmost importance and subsequently, we do everything we can to ensure the best outcomes from a health perspective when planning a pairing.
  • We strive to be the best ambassadors of the breed we can be, in the dogs we produce, in the information we can share about the breed and in the entire sales experience of potential puppy buyers.

We encourage our puppy-buyers to always maintain contact with us so that we can give them the best advice for their puppy as it grows. It also helps us to assess how effective our planning was in that pairing and what lessons we can learn so that we can constantly improve our strategy and future plans.
